Death of a Salesman/ Set in ways

In Death of a Salesman Willy is a salesman and does that for a living. His neighbor Charley wants to find out if thats all he has to offer in this world. Is that all Willy can really do for a living? I believe that Charley is meaning back in the 1940's that Willy does not have to settle for something that doesnt make him happy obviously deep dpwn, it stresses him out and hides his true personal characteristics because I really beleive he is not happy with hisself and his life in general.
His tentions are affecting everyone else in his life as well causing many people to keep far away from him. I believe Charley is trying to build up confidence in Willy and get his mind wondering about not giving up even if he isnt working as being a salesman. Charley tries to get Willy out of his confort zone that he's been in for so long and Willy just doesnt see the clear picture Charley offered for him to view.
In this current time 2012, I believe it has the same potential meaning. You dont want to settle for less but if you can have other opportunities to get you out of misery and debt, keep trying even if its the job you might not want because any job these days is better than nothing. Willy stands in his ways and fights to the finish for failure, when he really had the choice to not fail.

-Death of a Salesman comparison-

The story Arthur Miller Death of a Salesman is a story about different characters getting in multiple conflicts that life hands them. This story is a basic way to show the audience and readers of how others point of views and life stories are similar to ours as well.
I'd pick Denzel Washington to be Willy in this story because I feel that both personalities connect and they both have the same meanings in what life brings them.
For Linda's character I would choose Debra Jo Rupp because they both have spunky, yet easy personalities to cope with. Debra also stars in the hit show, "That 70's Show." Linda and Willy's character resemblance the 2 characters that play in That 70's Show in my opinion.
Tobey Maguire would be Biff's character because he is still trying to find where he stands in the world, and I feel that every movie so far that I've seen Tobey Maguire play in, his character is also in that way.
Happy is a character that is a follower. And I feel the person that stand out in this category would be Ashton Kutcher. They both have playful, innocent yet daring ways about their person. Happy is also trying to find his way through life but not too caught up in it as much as Biff, his brother is.
My favorite character I picked out for this story would definitely be Tobey Maguire because I feel he has more usage to every story and how the plots go. He is a strong, sensitive, but important character is each film I've seen and that's why I think he is my favorite actor. Biff is the most important character in this story and that is why I chose Tobey to fill his place.
